Why do we need to Reconnect with Nature?

With more people living in cities, working in high-rise closed air-conditioned office buildings, and becoming addicted to their innumerable electronic devices, many of us are experiencing something called as Nature deficit disorder. This is true for children and adults alike

After decades of careful studies in Japan, Korea and many other countries, it has been found that spending mindful time in a forest can positively impact 5 dimensions of Well being:

1) Physical 2) Mental 3) Emotional or Psychological  4) Spiritual and  5) Social Health (Relationships with others)

What happens in these walks?

A Forest/Nature walk is a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through easy meditative walks in forests and other natural environments. It is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to “forest bathing”, meaning opening up all our 5 senses to nature. It involves a 2-3 hour guided walk in a nature space where the facilitator guides the group with a few invitations/exercises they can engage in to take in the natural surroundings in a conscious and mindful way.

How do people reconnect with nature in our walks?

All of us are already connected with nature in our own ways. Some are aware of the names of plants, some know the medicinal properties, some are into organic farming/eating or birdwatching/photography and some just love to be in nature.

And yet, there are more ways of connecting with various elements of Nature.

In our walks, each one has a different experience..some feel calm…some experience a much needed slowness in life..some experience a spiritual connection to the wisdom of nature..some receive answers to their life problems…some just get to see nature in a different and appreciative way. But it is definitely an experience that leaves you in awe of nature and its magic.

As a team, the more we connected with nature, we felt more balanced, aligned, grounded and experienced heightened sense of intuition.

We would like to spread this state of being with others across India and across various sections of society. Specifically, we would like to involve Corporate employees, Doctors, Nurses, School Teachers, Cab drivers and House helps.
